What makes Mariners Point Golf Camp unique?

Students learn at world class golfing facility that includes a 9-hole, par-3 golf course, a fenced-in short game practice area that is ideal for teaching juniors valuable lessons in chipping, pitching, putting and sand shots.

What is the daily curriculum?
A typical day at camp includes golf instruction, lots of practice and playing fun golf games and exciting competitions. Campers are placed into groups of 10 students according to age and ability. The new player will learn the simple fundamentals of golf while the more experienced player will develop all the skills necessary to advance to the next level. Safety, rules of the game, sportsmanship and etiquette are all part of the curriculum.


Does my child need to be a good golfer?
Beginners are welcome! There is no pressure, just lots of fun! The only prerequisite is that your child shows interest in attending camp. Our friendly and enthusiastic coaches will help them improve their skill and make them feel more confident in their abilities.

Can a 5-year-old participate?
Our program is specifically designed for ages 7 and older. A six year-old may attend camp but for a half-day only, unless apporved by the Camp Director.

What should my child bring to camp?
Besides a well-rested body and good spirits each child is required to have a set of golf clubs. Rentals are available for $25 per week and must be reserved in advance. Wearing a cap/visor and long sleeve t-shirt is a good idea for sensitive skin. All-day campers should pack a lunch and have adequate morning and afternoon snacks.

What does Mariners Point provide?
Committed and caring instructors and coaches selected for their ability to interact with children. We provide plenty of water, sunscreen and band-aids for blisters. A complementary BBQ or pizza lunch is provided on Friday for everyone.

What is your instructor to student ratio? To ensure quality instruction and more importantly for the safety of each student, our ratio is one instructor or coach for every 8 students.

Q. How are campers grouped?
A. Campers are divided into groups of 10 according to age: 5-7yrs, 8-9yrs, 10-11yrs, 12yrs & above. The group will remain together the entire week and rotate daily through short game, putting, full swing and outdoor activities taught by a Lead Instructor. When playing on the golf course campers play in groups of 5 according to ability level.

Q. What safety system do you have?
A. Mariners Point competent staff will teach children how to practice, playm and have fun safely. Safety guidelines are discussed with students on the first day of camp and are reviewed daily. Each day lessons are conducted with an emphasis on SAFETY FIRST. We have each child’s emergency contact information and medical history on site at all times. We consider safety our greatest priority.
